Abstract (EN)

During recent years there have been intense investigations on the different classes of thiourea compounds, many of which known to possess interesting biological properties such as antimicrobial, antibacterial, analgesic, antiflammatory, anticancer, antifungal, antituberculosis, anti-HIV, anticonvulsant and antihypertensive activities. Within the scope of this study, firstly, a series of chalcone derivative compounds were synthesized by interacting with the Claisen-Schmidt condensation, a special form of aldol condensation, which was carried out under basic conditions with aldehydes containing the tetralone compound containing various substituted groups. In the second step of the study, the obtained chalcone derivative compounds and the guanidine hydrochloride compound were reacted in ethanol under basic ambient conditions to give various guanidine derivatives. In the last stage of the study, the guanidine derivative compounds obtained in the second stage were treated with ammonium thiocyanate compound under acidic conditions and synthesized dihydrobenzokinazolinyl thiourea derivative compounds which are not included in the literature. The synthesized thiourea derivative compounds were purified by suitable solvents and the structures were eluted with NMR, IR and mass spectrometer. The antibacterial activities of the synthesized thiourea compounds were examined and a significant activity was detected especially in the 7a, 7e, 7f, 7g and 7h derivatives. As a result of this thesis, 13 chalcone derivatives and 13 guanidine derivatives and 13 new thiourea-derived compounds were synthesized as intermediate products and their antibacterial properties were investigated. 13 new thiourea compounds obtained as the final product are introduced into the literature and in this sense it is thought to contribute to synthetic organic chemistry and medicine.
