Abstract (EN)
Turkey is a rich country which has agricultural wastes. Various processes have been for using these wastes as active by changing them to solid, liquid and gases phases and obtaining activated carbon from them is a process.Silver is a material that?s antibacterial effect is known for years. Recent years, due to using antibacterial material as disinfectant by charging to inorganic carrier, their using in industry has been increased and developed.In this study, bonding silver to activated carbon (RH/Ag) that has been prepared from rice husk, has been studied by using activation and chemical reduction method. Rice husk, activated carbon and (RH/Ag) have been characterized. At this aim, Brauner-Emmet-Teller (BET), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) measurements have been bought.When the effective of silver on rice husk is examined, while rice husk has got the biggest surface area, ıt has been observed that the surface area has been decreased with the silver that is added and enhanged as periodic.when the SEM photograps have been examined, while rice husk has pore, silver has dispersed on rice husk orderly. When ıt has been continued to adding silver, silver amount which has engaged to rice husk, have been increased. Also, ıt is an other point that silver particles are nanosize which is smaller than 1 m, in SEM photographs. İn addition to these, XRD results have been supported SEM results, have been represented specific peaks that are near to silver peaks and intensity of peaks have been increased when the silver amount increased. When the silver amount of RH/Ag samples have been examined, ıt has been seen that the silver amount which has engaged to rice husk have been increased as balanced with added silver.Keywords: Rice Husk, Activated Carbon, Silver, Antibacterial Effect
