Abstract (EN)

In this study, concrete paving blocks were produced according to TS 2824 EN 1338. Concrete paving blocks were poured in two layers as sub and surface layer. The sub layer of the concrete paving blocks were produced from one type concrete. In the surface layers of concrete paving blocks, pyrite in the ratio of 0.10-0.20-0.30-0.40 according to the mass of aggregate, according to the surface area of concrete paving blocks, 5 kg/m2 corundum based surface hardner and amount of water contained in the mixture of 0,05-0,10 percent water content of the polymer was added by adding water absorbing. A group of concrete paving blocks in the surface layer were prepared by using fine aggregate. In the scope of the study, vertical abrasion, pendulum foot friction and surface hardness were measured with schmitd test hammer in accordance with TS 2824 EN 1338 standard. Based on result of the study, it has been observed that the surface abrasion resistance of the concrete paving blocks were improved by using pyrite, corundum and water retention polymers.
