Abstract (EN)

In this study, prismatic mortar samples were produced by adding standard sand, pyrite, chrome and magnetite powder at the rates of %10, %20, %30 and %40 of the cement mass to the mortars used as plaster material in the constructions. The flexural and compressive strengths, volume constants initial and final setting time of the samples were determined. The mass absorption characteristics of the pure state of the samples and materials prepared by adding standard sand, pyrite, chromium and magnetite dust at the rate of %40 of cement mass were investigated by using gamma ray in 122 KeV and 834 KeV photon energies. As a result of the study it was observed that mineral additions added at the rates of %10, %20, %30 and %40 did not cause any adverse effects on the bending and compressive strenght, volume stability and initial and final setting time. It was observed that increasing energy level and mass absorption coefficient decrease and the mortars containing magnetite dust absorbs the radiation best.
