Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, it was aimed to examine the effect of family education levels on student academic success in Turkey according to PISA 2018 results. In this study, the t-test method with IDB Analyzer was used. The research was carried out according to the answers of 6890 students in the 15 age group participating in the 2018 PISA application from Turkey. By examining the mother's education level, father's education level, and the parent with the highest education level, the degree of variability in reading skills, mathematical literacy, and science literacy achievements was examined. According to the results obtained, the reading skills, mathematical literacy, and science literacy achievements of the children of parents who have a university (faculty) degree and a doctorate or master's degree, or parents with the highest education level in the family, are higher than those of other education level graduates. According to the results found, the average of reading skills and science literacy, in general, gave higher results for female students than for male students. On the other hand, in the average of mathematical literacy, male students generally have a higher average than female students. In general, it is seen in the data obtained in the average of reading skills, mathematics literacy, and science literacy, that we can say that apprenticeships and vocational school graduates have a lower average than other education levels. In other words, the average does not increase as the level of education increases. It can be high in some education levels and low in some education levels.
