Comparasion between the countries that were successful in the PISA and Turkey's transition period to secondary education and solution suggestions for transition to secondary education

A comparative study was conducted between the countries such as Germany, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Singapore that were successful in the PISA and Turkey's transition period to secondary education. In this context, the solution suggestions for transition to secondary education in Turkey were addressed. The research consists of five chapters. In the first chapter, the problem of the research subject was discussed. Then, the aim, importance and limitations of the research, the related researches and the key concepts of the research were discussed. In the second chapter, the model of the research and the collection, analysis and interpretation of the data were mentioned about. Then, the history of the Turkısh education system and the historical development of the formal education system were adressed. In the third chapter, the reasons for the need for an exam in transition to secondary education were presented. In this concept, the school types in secondary education and the history of the examinations applied in transition to secondary education in Turkey were addressed. In the fourth chapter, the structure of the education system and the policies of the transition to secondary education in Germany, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Singapore were discussed. In addition, the assessment of the PISA success both in these countries and in Turkey was addressed. In the last chapter, results and suggestions were mensioned about.
