Abstract (EN)

This research has been conducted to construct a model in relation to Turkish Folk Music songs that are arranged for piano instruction, and to determine the influence of the model on students? level of performance. The research comprises two main chapters: ?Constructing the Multi-Analysis Model? and ?Testing the Effectiveness of the Model in Interpreting Turkish Songs of Piano?. Whereas descriptive methods are employed in constructing the Multi-Analysis Model (MAM), experimental method is utilized in testing the model. The multi-analysis model that has been developed in the study essentially includes the traditional and polyphonic analysis of musical works. The traditional dimension of analysis consists of listening to the traditional form and watching the traditional dance of the song along with the musicological analysis of the work. On the other hand, the polyphonic dimension of analyses includes such components as formal structure analysis and armonic structre analysis. The sample of musical work was composed of three songs from the album ?Gençler İçin I? (For the Youth I) by İstemihan TAVILOĞLU, each of which is at the different levels of difficulty (easy ? medium - difficult) and have different characteristics of dances (Zeybekh ? Halay ? Caucasian folk dance). An experimental model consisting of pre-test, post-test and control group was used in measuring the significance of students? improvement in their levels of interpreting (performing) the works. Within the framework of experimental pattern, the teaching of the musical arrangements was conducted through traditional instruction as well as Multi-Analysis model. A two - factor ANOVA test was employed in complex measurements for the analysis of data obtained from the pre-test, post-test results. In conclusion, the Multi - Analysis Model, originally developed and tested for effectiveness in the research was found to have positive effects on interpreting Turkish piano pieces.
