Market concentration indices and an investigation on pestil-köme sector in Gumushane province

The relationship between market concentration and firm performance is one of the most important controversial issues in industrial economics. In this study, condensation indices were calculated from 2002-2007 period production data of the Pestil-Köme sector, which became the most important production market of Gümüşhane province, and the factors determining the market concentration in the ARDL model were analyzed. At the beginning of the findings of the study, it was observed that high density in the period of 2002-2007 in the sector, competitive in the period of 2007-2012 and increase of the concentration in the period of 2012-2017. It has been found that the calculated Rosenbulth index is the most appropriate concentration index for the market to be analyzed for the market and that the long term local population and prices and the number of tourists coming to the city in the short term increase the concentration in the framework of this index.
