Özet (EN)
One of the most important stage of plastic injection process is the cooling stage. The task of the cooling system is ensure that molten material solidifies and comes out of the mold. Straight cooling channels are the most common method used to control the temperature of the part. However, straight channels are difficult to provide proper cooling in complex parts. In this study, a mold design was made for the production of a plastic product by plastic injection. First of all, straight cooling channel design and simulation were done. For this, a program called Moldex was used. The simulation results was interpreted in terms of part quality and process parameters. Then , conformal cooling channel desing and simulation were performed to reduce the cycle time and cost of the part. The simulation results and process parameters were interpreted. Straight channel design and comformal channel design were compared according to the simulation results. Finally, both channel designs were compared in terms of cost.
