Özet (EN)

In this thesis, a portable high-voltage cable testing device operating based on the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-assisted Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) method has been designed. The designed equipment is specifically optimized for fault detection and fault location in underground power cables using the TDR method. It is compatible with the "Arc Reflection Method" supported by TDR or the acoustically assisted "Point Location Method." The TDR module features a touch screen interface with buttons for operation and a graphical interface to enable detailed analysis of cable characteristics. While TDR operations are primarily managed by software embedded in the TDR module, processes requiring high-voltage applications are conducted in coordination with the PLC due to additional safety protocols. The software processes required for this study were developed using Delta ISPSoft and implemented with the Ladder Diagram programming language. All electrical and electromechanical components required for the system were mounted within a specially designed wheeled panel, allowing for secure execution of high-voltage operations through PLC coordination. PLC. Electromechanical switches and buttons were predominantly used for PLC operations. The developed equipment can operate using either an external 220V power source or an internal 12V battery system. Additionally, the 24VDC voltage required for the PLC and the 12KVDC voltage required for high-voltage testing were supplied through DC-DC converter modules.
