Abstract (EN)
DESIGNING OF A PNEUMATIC ENGINE AND PRODUCTION OF APROTOTYPE(M. Sc. Thesis)Tolga SAĞIRGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYMarch 2006ABSTRACTOn the conventional piston engine, the linear motion elements give rise to theincreasing of friction force and worsening production economy and occurrenceof a vibration. In this study, a pallet type pneumatic engine having no crank shaft, cam shaftand valve mechanism has been designed and constructed. By means of thisengine?s four pallets which are located on the rotor that ran away from the axis, four functions are performed during each revolution. The pneumatic engine is converting the energy of compressed air, to a directrevolution movement and only a little amount of oil and clean air are expelledthrough the exhaust mechanism. The built prototype has been operated underthe 8,9 and 10 bars of pressure and under the load its maximum rpm has beenequal to 590. The maximum power acquired from the engine, has beendetermined as 101.4 W with a rpm of 398 under 10 bar pressure.Science Code : 708.3.026Key Words : Alternative engine, pneumatic engine, emulsion, internalcombustion enginePage Number : 75Adviser : Doç.
