Abstract (EN)

Poly(glycidyl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycole dimethacrylate) (PGMA)microbeads with an average size of 812±50 ;m were synthesized by suspensionpolymerization technique. The PGMA microbeads were first modified with 3,3-Imminodipropilnitril. Then, the 3,3-Imminodipropilnitril modified PGMAmicrobeads were reacted with hydroxylamine to obtain a novel polymercontaining two pendant amidoxime groups in each monomeric unit. The 3,3-%mminodipropilnitril modification and the conversion of the nitrile groups toamidoxime were confirmed by FT-IR spectroscopy. Surface morphology andthermal behavior of PGMA and its modificated forms were characterized byscanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) anddifferential scanning calorimetry (DSC) techniques; further confirmingmodification and amidoximation.Science Code : 201.1.117Key Words : PGMA, suspension polymerization, amidoxime, modificationPage Number : 89Adviser : Doç.
