Abstract (EN)

In this study the modified glassy carbon electrodes (GCEs) were prepared with methylene blue (MB) redox mediator, which is one of phenothiazine dyes, using electropolymerization procedure and the studies on electrocatalytic oxidation of sulphide were performed using these modified electrodes. The parameters such as pH of supporting electrolyte, monomer concentration, cycle number and potential window during the preparation of modified electrode were optimized according to its best response toward sulphide. The effect of scan rate, pH of supporting electrolyte on the modified electrodes were investigated with cyclic voltammetry. The electrocatalytic oxidation of sulphide ion (S2-) was investigated with cyclic voltammetry and amperometric techniques in flow injection analysis (FIA) system using this modified electrode. sulphide in the domestic waste water of Kepez and waste water of leather from Biga (Çanakkale) was determined and the results were compared with spectrophotometric methods.
