Abstract (EN)

In this study, controlled release of salicylic acid (SA) through poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA), poly(vinyl alcohol-g-itaconic acid) (PVA-g-IA) and poly(vinyl alcohol-g-acrylamide) (PVA-g-AAm) membranes were investigated. For this purpose theeffects of grafting percentege of IA, pH, SA concentration and temperature onthe release were investigated. It was determined that as the grafting percentageof IA increased the released amount of SA decreased. The effect of pH of donorcompartment was studied by setting the pH of the acceptor compartment to 7,40while changing the pH of donor compartment. It was determined that as the pHof donor compartment increased the released percentege of SA decreased. Toinvestigate the effect of the concentration of SA on the release characteristics,unsaturated and saturated solutions of SA were permeated at pH=2,10. Therelease of SA from unsaturated solutions was found to be higher than thesaturated solutions.From the comparasion of the performances of PVA, PVA-g-IA and PVA-g-AAm membranes, PVA-g-AAm membranes were found to be most suitablemembranes for the relase of SA. The effect of temperature were alsoinvestigated and it was observed that increase in temperature increased therelease.
