Abstract (EN)

In this study, poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), polyindole (PIN) and poly(vinyl chloride)/polyindole (PVC/PIN) composites having five different compositions were used. Particle sizes, densities, conductivities and dielectric constants of the materials were measured. A series of volume fractions ( ? = 5% - 25%) were prepared from PVC, PIN, K10, K23, K49, K71 and K91 samples in silicone oil (SO) and their sedimentation stabilities were determined. Zeta potentials of samples were measured in SO and in aqueous media. The suspensions prepared in SO were subjected to external electric field strength and their electrorheological (ER) properties were investigated. Then the effects of dispersed particle volume fraction, shear rate, external electric field strength, frequency and temperature onto ER activites of the suspensions were investigated. Further, creep-recovery tests were applied to the PIN/SO and composites/SO suspensions and reversible viscoelastic deformations observed. Finally, the vibration damping capacity of PVC(%66)/PIN(%34)/SO suspension system were investigated by using an automobile shock absorber and 12% vibration damping capacity were determined under E = 1 kV/6 mm and T = 25 ? C conditions.
