Abstract (EN)

Nowadays infections constitute a significant portion of health problems. Therefore, there have been several studies on the synthesis of new antibacterial materials. Moreover, in modification of these materials, low toxicity and high antibacterial properties gain importance for the synthesis of materials. The scope of this study, the hydrogel groups were determined according to two different manufacturing methods. In the first method, ROMP based cationic polymer was used in hydrogel formulation. Water based hydrogels were synthesized by free radical polymerization method including AAm, BAAm, PEGDA and ROMP polymers with different amounts. Antimicrobial cationic PEI and AgNO3 were used for the investigation of synergistic (two sided) effects in second group hydrogels production. In the first part of this study, polyethyleneimine (PEI) was converted into a structure capable of curing UV PEI, cationic groups are obtained with methyl iodide. Hydrogels were prepared by photopolymerization method with using UV-curable cationic polyethyleneimine, AgNO3, AAm and BAAm in the presence of UV initiator. Antimicrobial activity and in vitro toxicity studies were performed for characterization of the synthesized hydrogels.
