Abstract (EN)
In this study, conducting homopolymer of indene was synthesized by chemical polymerization method in nonaqueous medium and polyindene/poly(oxymethylene) (PIn/POM) blends were prepared. The physical, chemical, thermal and spectral properties of the synthesized homopolymer and their blends were investigated. In the experiments, FeCl3 was used as oxiding agent and the ratio of salt/monomer was 4:1. The conductivities of PIn and PIn/POM blends were measured using four-probe technique. The conductivity of PIn was determined with a value of 1,16x 10?5 S cm-1 at the room temperature. The highest conductivity was obtained in PIn/POM blend containing 90% (m/m) PIn with a value of 9,8x10-6 Scm-1. It was observed that the conductivity decreased with increasing amount of POM in the blends. From Gouy scale magnetic susceptibility measurements, it was revealed that PIn and PIn/POM blends were found to have polaron nature. Amount of Fe (mg/g) in the PIn structure was determined by Inductif Coupled Plasma-Optic Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES). FTIR spectra were taken to analyze the structural properties of PIn and PIn/POM blends. The thermal properties of PIn and PIn/POM blends were investigated by using thermogravimetric (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analyses and found that they had v shown adequate thermal stability. Morphological structures of the PIn, POM and blends were clarified by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Key Words :Polyindene, poly(oxymethylene), blend, conductive polymer
