Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to investigate the changes in surface tension of polypropylene material with UV stabilizer additive and the effects of this change on dye retention. Polypropylene is a thermoplastic material used in many industrial applications with its lightness and durability, and it is possible to modify this material with UV stabilizer additive to improve its surface properties. However, the effects of UV rays on the structure of polypropylene and the role of these changes on dye retention properties have been addressed limitedly in the existing literature. This study aims to develop new strategies to increase the dye retention ability of the material by examining the effects of UV stabilizer additive on the polypropylene surface in detail. In the thesis, the chemical and structural properties of polypropylene, the modification of UV stabilizer additive on the polypropylene surface and the relationship of this modification with the dye retention mechanism are comprehensively discussed. Within the scope of the research, the effects of UV stabilizer additive on the tension of the polypropylene surface are revealed with experimental data and the effects of these changes on dye retention are evaluated. In addition, after the polypropylene surfaces are modified with UV stabilizer additive, the relationship between surface tension and dye retention is investigated and various factors affecting dye retention are analyzed in detail. The results of the study show that UV stabilizer additive can create significant changes in the surface properties of polypropylene and increase the dye retention capacity of the material. These findings offer new improvement opportunities for more efficient use of polypropylene and also provide significant contributions to materials engineering and industrial applications. This study offers practical solutions to make polypropylene materials more durable and functional.
