Production of wall elements bims block with granul styrofoam additive investigation

Due to the nature of porous structure of pumice is a raw material with light and heat insulation. Because of this feature is used in many fields. Including the major construction industry, agriculture, textile and chemical sectors have widespread use. Agriculture, textiles, and chemicals industries, and mainly in the construction sector, there is widespread use. Pumice deposits are spread wide geography of Turkey.This study investigated the contribution of fly ash and pumice aggregate lightweight concrete block properties of granular polystyrene foam effects. Mixtures prepared according to TS 802, cement factor was set to be 300. Samples were placed into metal moulds with using vibration method of 100 x 100 x 100 mm sizes. Samples removed from the mould after 24 hours. 85 oC Atmospheric steam curing was applied to instances for a period of 8 hours. As a result (A) sample group (D 1.4) has appropriate density values of the according to EN 206-1, while the other samples (D 1.2) class. The (A) series samples with the value of 13.2 MPa compressive strength is thought to be used as lightweight concrete.Accordingly, the thermal insulation values of the samples increased. Unit weight values of the samples are decreased with granular polystyrene additive.
