Rüzgâr ve güneş enerjileri üzerine Türk ve Avrupa enerji politikaları

Today, the European Union supports renewable energy sources to combat climate change, by diversifying energy choices and to create new job opportunities by introducing new legal regulations and applying different supportive mechanisms. The EU has the leading position in the field of the two most important renewable energy sources; solar and wind energies. Despite its huge potential for renewable energy, Turkey has, so far, made no attempt in this field. The EU has the leading position among the most important renewable energy sources. While Turkey, which has increasingly benefited from the source of wind energy, its solar energy use has remained at merely symbolic levels. As a candidate country for full accession to the EU, Turkey has been affected directly by EU renewable energy action policy. Turkey has prepared the national renewable energy action plan in accordance with EU directives to reach its 2023 national target. If Turkey were to achieve the ambitious objectives it has set for solar and wind energies, it would greatly benefit fom its rich potential in these renewable energy sources. This will certainly have a positive impact on Turkey's accession process to EU. In this study, the harmony of the legal regulations and supportive mechanisms regarding renewable energy sources applied by both Turkey and EU have been analysed in details by shedding light on each side's, renewable energy potentials, particularly solar and wind energies.
