Abstract (EN)

Samples were coated with 3 different types of polyurea with various properties. Tensile and bending tests were applied to monitor the change in the mechanical properties (Ultimate Tensile Strength, Strain at UTS, Ductility, Maximum flexure Load, and Toughness) of the samples after applying the polyurea coating. Polyurea coating had resulted in a significant increment in the aluminum foam ultimate tensile stress, ductility, and fracture toughness. On the other hand, Polyurea coated PLA samples witnessed some issues due to high spraying temperature which resulted in a decrease in the ultimate tensile strength of the sample because of PLA's glass transition temperature. but the elongation, ductility, and fracture toughness of the samples have remarkably increased. In this study, the effect of different polyurea coats on aluminum foam and PLA 3D printed samples was established due to the importance of both materials in current industries, many studies focus on improving and aiding the performance of such useful materials in order to fit in further applications.
