Abstract (EN)
In order to ensure the continuity of energy, it must be stored against sudden changes in production and consumption. One of the solutions that can solve this problem is pumped storage hydroelectric power plants. There are various pumped storage hydroelectric power plant projects under construction or planning all over the world. Although Turkey has a sufficiently long experience with hydroelectric power plants, there are no pumped storage power plants under construction and in operation. Therefore, in this thesis, an exemplary pumped storage hydroelectric power plant design, in which the Oymapınar hydroelectric power plant reservoir is used as a sub-reservoir, was made by examining the existing PDHES in the world and in our country.
