Popular culture and youth laborer

This study focuses on youth labourers. Youth laborers? culturel code in Turkey is examined via this research. This research comprises of the data which comes from the questinaires that has been applied to youth labourers who work in different areas. In this study, the life style of youth labourers?, their identity profiles, private lives, professinal careers, social and culturel life and political views evaluated within the framework established by the phenomenon of popular culture. The scope of youth labourers is specifed by the workers who work in auto repair services, textile factories, drug production facilities, metal indutry, food&beverage and printing press industry with a low-level income. They are also suburban and between the age of 15 and 29. In this study, firstly, socio-culturel characteristic of youth labourers who lives in a metropol city like Istanbul was examined carefully. Then the link which they established with young people?s life style, personal profiles, politics, fashion, consumption and entertainment, which means the link that they established with popular culture was evaluated. The main purpose of this study is to state conditions of building their specific society values of the youth labourers who represent an important amount of the labur force. This study which focuses on youth labourers, comprises there main parts. In the first part culture and popular culture notions were explained. In the second part, the phenomenon of class, class culture and the history of the class in Turkey were analysed deeply and the link was established with youth labourers. İn the third part, data which comes from the research were placed. And finally in the last part, you can find an evaluation from the result of the research.
