?We and they?, is the oldest separation in the history of humanity, convertedinto nationalism at the age of nation-states and ideologies. Nationalism whichbecame more effective in the world during the last two century entered as aphenomenon to the European history. And it spread to the world with FrenchRevolution. The principle of ?self determination? caused the nation-states and theybecame state models of modern age. And today, nation-state plays important role inthe international order as a fundamental political unit.It is imposible to explain the important historical events which occured in theworld at the last two century unless to understant nationalist ideology. Because thereare different nationalist ideologies in the different geographies, the definition ofnationalism became difficult but this reason does not decrease its importance.When we come to today, we can say that the nation-states still continue theirexistence in the world in which ethnical conflicts, international wars and terrorism areeffective. However at the same time, nation-states try to insist under the pressure ofglobalism and localism. Globalism and ethnical nationalism corrode the border ofnation-state as economic, political, social and cultural. Although this stuation, nation-states are still the most powerful and meaningful unit of existent world order. The aimof this study is to explain the popular nationalism that towards globalism forunderstanding the chaotic situations in the world
