Investigation of usage of Cankiri Kalfat region feldspars instead of Aydin Cine sodium feldspar in the porcelain tile body

In this study, the Çankırı Kalfat Region Feldspar is used %5, %10, %15, %20 and %25 instead of Aydın Çine feldspars in porcelain tile body receipt. The sieve residue and density of the prepared slips were measured. After drying the slips, they were moistered to %5,5, that is suitable for porcelain tile production. Prepared granules were pressed in laboratory press with a specific pressure of 460 kg / cm2. Pressed samples were fired in the porcelain tile production kiln. Fired shrinkage, fired strength, water absorbtion and color changes were measured. Increasement of the Kalfat Feldspars quantity was increased the sieve resudue in the same milling time, increased the fired shrinkage, increased the water absorbtion and decreased the whiteness. Although all measured values are different from the standart sample, all values are within the TSE standarts. And it is found that the Çankırı Kalfat Region Feldspars are usable. It is concluded that, utilizing 25% Çankırı Kalfat Feldspar instead of Aydın Çine Feldspar decreases the raw material cost 11,1% for the porcelain tile body, saving 25 million TL per year for a company located nearby.
