Abstract (EN)

Portal hypertension (PHT) is a hyperdinamic circulation disorder characterizedby high portal venous pressure which is above 10 mmHg. Cirrhosis, encephalopathyand gastrointestinal bleedings are the major severe complications of PHT. The aim ofour study was to evaluate the changes in oxidative stress markers such as nitricoxide (NO), malondialdehide (MDA), myeloperoxidase (MPO) in kidney tissues ofrats with PH.In this study, 25 male Sprague-Dawley rats had been used. These rats hadbeen divided into two groups: group 1 (n=13) the control group, group 2 (n=12) whichhad been partial portal ven ligation applied and so portal hypertension had formed. Atthe end of the time these rats decapitated and kidney tissues had taken out. In thistissues NO,MPO, MDA enzymatic activities measured spectrophotometricaly. Ureaand creatine levels studied in these rats serums. When compared of two groups,there is an statistically meaningful differences between their serum urea levels andtissue MDA levels (respectively p=0.008, p=0.009). But there weren?t any differencesbetween serum creatine and tissue MPO, tissue NO levels.Urea is synthesized in liver. In Portal hypertension (PHT) urea synthesisbreaks down because of the developing of the liver disease and cirrhosis. Andenvironmentally ammonia accumulates. And our results show this decision.In spite of this; studies which research the effects of the portal hypertension onthe kidney are not enough.
