Abstract (EN)

In this study, the effect of using Portland cement over the properties of Khorasan mortar is investigated. For this purpose lime, brick powder, brick fragment, Portland cement and wooden ash are used in Khorasan mortar mixture. The physical and mechanical properties of Khorasan mortar were examined in three stages. In the first stage, the proportions of the binding substances to be used in Khorasan mortar were determined and their physical and mechanical properties were examined. In the second stage, standard sand and brick fragment are used in the mixture as small aggregate. And at the third stage wood ash were added to the obtained control Khorasan mortar and them the physical and mechanical properties of this mixture were examined. Mortar samples in the size of 40 x 40 x 160 mm have been produced by using the obtained mortars. On the 28th and 90th days, bending and pressure strength experiments were implemented to the mortar samples. The highest bending and pressure strength was obtained in the Khorasan mortar containing brick powder, cement, lime and standard sand. The best performance among the Khorasan mortars was obtained from the one containing 65 % brick powder, 10 % lime, 25 % Portland cement.
