Abstract (EN)
Concrete or reinforced concrete structures are directly or indirectly exposed to aggressive environments. At the beginning of these aggressive environments are sulfate salts. Sulfate salts are also found in groundwater and sometimes in soil. In addition, concrete structures in contact with sea water, acid rain, industrial wastes and other structures exposed to sulfate can be counted. In terms of sustainability, it is imperative to protect reinforced concrete structures against sulphate, which destroys concrete structures and even causes them to collapse. In this study, the usability of limestone cement produced with Portland clinker belonging to the same strength class, instead of pozzolanic, composite, additive-free and SR5 cements was investigated. In addition to this in this study, the effect of magnesium sulfate solution on concrete compressive strength was investigated. It was cured by adding 3% by weight magnesium sulfate solution to the curing water of the mortar. The compressive strengths of the samples exposed to the magnesium sulfate solution on the 28th day were compared with the control samples for 1 year. It was determined that cements with high C3A content, followed by cements with low permeability, and finally cements containing pozzolanic additives showed the highest effect on sulfate resistance. As a result, it has been observed that CEM II A/K cement, which is finely ground and brought to the same strength class, is a cement type that can be preferred for sulfate resistance.
