Özet (EN)
The meaning of work has been changed through the ages. After the Industrial Revolution the work ethic concept appeared. This concept includes; religious basis, work commitment ordered by industrial society and learned by socialization.Through the 1970?s industrial society has been transformed to post-industrial society. In this process the most important change has been the expansion of services sector. In these years the structure of employement is affected by other dynamics like globalisation and postfordism. Atypical and part-time employement influenced the value of work between the individuals. It is claimed that in the consumer societes individuals identify themselves by what they consume, not by what they produce or by their jobs. In this study, varying meaning of work through the ages will be analyzed, the meaning of work ethic and post-industrial society will be explained and the effects of post-industrial transformation process on the work ethic will be researched.
