Architect as an individual in postmodern world

Architecture and accordingly architect, has been continuing its existence since it first appeared. Architect has been referred with the same name for each century. Yet, there was differentiations in the working and productivity style. The architects are expected to be closely influenced by the global developments and social changes. Based on this, besides his job, architect has been influenced by the developments as a human being as well. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate architects as a subject and investigate how they position in the changing world and how they are affected by the individualism as a result of modernity. The position of the "architect" in historical process has analyzed with comparison of World- Turkey. Also, what is assigned to the meaning of the word "architect" in today's postmodern world has questioned. In this questioning, the relation of architect and individual is the primary research subject.
