The effect of positive psychological capital on problem solving skills of employees

People are the starting point of organizations aiming at organizational change in order to achieve organizational goals. Because people form the basis of the organization and people come to the organizations with their feelings and thoughts. These positive or negative feelings and thoughts also affect the whole of the organization together with their works. While their positive thoughts create a positive effect, negative thoughts cause some problems. In order to solve these problems, human resources should be used effectively and have a positive effect on employee performance and be directed towards organizational goals. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of positive psychological capital of employees on their problem solving skills. For this purpose, research data was collected by questionnaire technique from 180 employees working in Yön Textile Company in Kastamonu. The research data was evaluated by descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis), factor analysis, reliability analysis (Cronbach Alpha), correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. According to the fındings of the research, positive psychological capital has a signifıcant effect on problem solving skills and its sub-dimensions (confıdence to problem solving skills, approach-avoidance, personal control). However, it was concluded that optimism, hope and resilience as dimensions of psychological capital has a signifıcant effect on problem solving skills. Similarly, it was found that resilience dimension has a signifıcant effect on confıdence to problem solving skills dimension, optimism and hope dimensions have a signifıcant effect on the approachavoidance dimension and resilience dimension has a signifıcant effect on personal control dimension.
