Abstract (EN)
Emerged in pursuance of positive psychology's projection into organizational life, positive psychological capital is a new approach in professional habitat which is founded on positive psychological competencies, which ensures long term competitive advantage and helps organizations to make use of their human resource at maximum level. Positive psychological capital exposes that unveiling positive and strong traits of individuals can ensure profit to the organizations at least as much as other capital investments can. Studies conducted in this field endorse the idea that positive psychological capital brings with it an important organizational value: Affective Organizational Commitment. The purpose of this study is to identify the moderating role of climacteric period and age factor in the eventual impact of positive psychological capital to affective organizational commitment. The "Positive Psychological Capital Scale", developed by Luthans, Avolio, Avey and Norman (2007); and specific items of "Organizational Commitment Scale", developed by Meyer, Allen and Smith (1993), each of which involve in measuring affective organizational commitment, were used for data collection. The mentioned data was acquired from the female employees of private hospitals that operate in Mersin Province (n=412). Packaged software programs SPSS 23 and Lisrel were used for data analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, correlation analysis, and, in purpose of testing the hypotheses lineer regression and hierarchical regression analysis, were utilized. In consequence of the correlation analysis conducted to determine the relation of positive psychological capital and its sub-dimensions with affective organizational commitment, meaningful and positive correlations were explored between positive psychological capital and affective organizational commitment. Hierarchical regression analysis was carried out in order to test the moderating role of climacteric period and age in the influence of positive psychological capital to affective organizational commitment. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed that positive psychological capital (B=,421, p<0,05) and its sub-dimensions which are optimism (B=,336, p<0,05), psychological resilience (B=,312, p<0,05), hope (B=,401, p<0,05) and self-efficacy (B=,393, p<0,05) do have an effect on affective organizational commitment. It was therefore concluded that enhancing positive psychological capital perception will enhance affective organizational commitment. However, it was discovered that climacteric period and age do not hold a moderating role in the influence of positive psychological capital and its sub-dimensions to affective organizational commitment.
