Abstract (EN)

It is a known fact that diabetes causes atherosclerosis and associated mortality and morbidity increase. Many studies have been conducted to show that diabetes worsens the prognosis in many diseases, blood sugar control increases the quality of life and prolongs life. It has been determined by various studies that prediabetes will cause many additional diseases such as diabetes, and it is a fact that early treatment will significantly increase the quality of life. The relationship between carotid intima-media thickness, which is accepted as an indicator of atherosclerosis, with the fat / muscle ratio measured by bioelectrical impedance device in prediabetes patients; It will be an important finding indicating whether atherosclerosis has started in prediabetes patients and its relation with fat-muscle ratio. At the end of our study, we determined that prediabetes caused a significant increase in carotid intima-media thickness and thus atherosclerosis risk, regardless of age, and that this situation had a significant relationship with body fat / muscle ratio.
