Abstract (EN)
Construction and demolition waste is causing many environmental problems in the world and in Turkey. Therefore, the construction and demolition wastes are recycled and used as raw materials in production; It is of great importance for environmental sustainability and socio-economic aspects. Prefabricated concrete building materials that are becoming more and more common in cities; aging, renovation, transportation, loading, unloading etc. If the waste materials are not recycled, they bring with them many economic problems besides environmental problems In this study, concrete paving and curb Stone structural elements, which were in the form of waste, were crushed separately by means of jack hammers and combined in equal amounts, and were added to concrete paving mixtures in theratios of 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100% to substitute for crushed Stone aggregate. For each substitution rate (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100%), tests and experiments of measurement of dimensions, determination of resistance to freezing and thawing together with the effect of de-icing salt, determination of water absorption, measurement of resistance, measurement of resistance to abrasion by the Böhme test, as specified in TS 2824 EN 1338, were also conducted. In the light of the test results, the degree of recyclability of existing (%40) RCA was determined and it is revealed that it is possible to recycle other prefabricated concrete elements containing larger natural aggregates.
