Evaluation of the effectiveness of extracorporeal magnetic innervation in premature ejaculation

The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of extracorporeal magnetic innervation application in addition to pelvic floor muscle training in men with premature ejaculation. Forty-one men with a diagnosis of premature ejaculation, aged between 19-54 years, were included in the study. Men's pelvic floor muscle strength measurements by real-time ultrasonography, premature ejaculation symptoms by Premature Ejaculation Assessment Questionnaire (PETD), erection quality by International Sexual Function Index (IIEF), sexual functions by Male Sexual Function Index (BSFI), physical activity level by International Physical Activity Questionnaire – Short Form (IPAQ-SF), quality of life by World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL-BREF), mood assessment by Montgomery and Åsberg Depression Scale (MADRS), pelvic inclination angle by Spinal Mouse®, Foot pes planus were evaluated with the Clarke Angle Measurement, and subjective perception of improvement was evaluated with the Global Perceived Impact Scale (GPIS). Individuals were divided into 2 groups, including pelvic floor muscle training and extracorporeal magnetic innervation (ExMI) application in addition to pelvic floor muscle training, and included in the 8-week treatment program. Individuals in both groups were evaluated 3 times, before the treatment, at the 4th week of the treatment, and after the treatment. It was determined that there was an improvement in the pelvic floor muscle strength and endurance, PETD, IIEF, BSFI, MADRS, GPIS, and the values of the parameter questioning "sexual life satisfaction" within the quality of life of the individuals in both groups (p<0.05). In addition, it was found that all these values increased more in the ExMI group (p<0.05). In this study, it was determined that ExMI application in men with premature ejaculation was effective, comfortable and non-invasive on symptoms. We think that ExMI treatment can be used in treatment programs of men with premature ejaculation.
