Abstract (EN)
High stress levels and depression after preterm birth can affect the quality of life of parents. The frequency of depression in the mothers of preterm infants was found to be 1.6 times higher than the mothers who have term babies. However, there are few studies on the quality of life of mothers. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the effect of quality of life of mothers with premature infants on the motor development level of infants. Twenty-six preterm infants and their mothers, who were born between 29-36 weeks, were included in the study. Both mothers and infants at the same time, when is the babies reached the term period 37-40, were evaluated during gestation age. After birth, the Postpartum Quality of Life Scale (PQLS) and Continuity and State Anxiety Inventory (CSAI) were administered to mothers. Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP) was used for motor evaluation of babies who are reaching term period. In this study, the mean gestational age of the babies included was 34.4 ages and the mean birth weights were 2024.88 grams. There was no relation between the mothers' STAI and MAPP-QOL and the babies' TIMP scores in the correlation analysis (p>0.05). At the same time, there was a strong negative correlation between the and MAPP-QOL score and the STAI scale (r =-0,591), while a strong negative correlation was found between the Trait Anxiety score (r =-0,673) and the Postpartum Quality of Life Scale score (p <0,05). As a result of this study; There was no relation between the quality of life and anxiety level of the mothers and the motor development performance of the babies. However, we think that there will be more accurate results with a large number of cases and a long-term follow-up study.
