Abstract (EN)
The research was made qualitatively aiming to examine the life forms of women who have complaints about premenstrual syndrome. The datas were collected by interviews made deeply with twenty applicants chosen in suitable criteria from preclinical gynecology service of the Dr. Ekrem Hayri Üstündağ Gynecological and Birth Hospital at İzmir by using a voice recorder with questionnaire prepared by the researcher acccording to literature, interview form and PMS scale which validity and reliability have done by Gençdoğan, between 18th March and 25th October of 2008. The descriptive analysis method was used in the evaluation of datas.The half of women (n=10) interviewed about feeding habits have two times of meal a day. Most of the women (n=12) don?t play sports regularly. Almost all of them (n=18) have sleeping problems and harmful addictions that effect their health. Some of the women (n=5) smoke twenty cigarettes a day. The number of women drinking over seven cups of coffee and tea a day is nine. Most of women (n=15) have lack of communication with their husband or lover. Most of them (n=13) thought about their home-based stress. It?s also shown that they don?t care about routine check-ups.Women having complaints about PMS need education and counseling about feeding, sports, sleeping, habits, communication, sensitivity, healthcare and controlling their stress. Medical profession should educate and advise not only the women who have complaints about PMS but also their family?s together.Key words: Women, PMS, life style
