Preparation, characterization, and optimization of silver oxide nanofluids

Abstract (EN)
In this study, nanofluids in which the basic fluid is deionized water were prepared using silver oxide nanoparticles via two-step method, and the physical properties of these nanofluids were determined. Nanofluids were prepared in three different ratios of 0.1%, 0.5% and 1%. After the nanofluids were prepared, viscosity, thermal conductivity, zeta potential and particle diameter were measured. In the study, it was observed that the thermal conductivity, viscosity and zeta potential values increased as the ultrasonic mixing time and the amount of solids by volume increased. The thermal conductivity values were higher than the thermal conductivity values of deionized water, which is the base fluid of the nanofluid, and were in the range of 0.669 W/m.K-0.671 W/m.K. Viscosity values are in the range of 1 cp-1.07 cp and are higher than the viscosity value of deionized water. The zeta potential is in the range of 37-47.
