Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to try to explain the philosophers before Socrates with sources written in ancient times. There are texts from ancient times that are not widely known in our country, but exist in ancient Greek and Latin in the Western world. Our aim in this study is to show Turkish academics that such sources exist and that a pre-Socratic philosophy can be written based on ancient sources. In the second part of our thesis, the transfer of these developments in Greek philosophy and science to the Islamic world in the 8th, 9th and 10th centuries will be examined. The scope of these translation movements, which books were translated and what happened in the Islamic world as a result of these translations will be analyzed. As a result, this thesis aims to examine how this science and philosophy, produced by immersing the pre-Socratic philosophers with the help of ancient sources, had an impact on the Islamic world through translations.
