Abstract (EN)
The relationship between performance parameters and basal nitric oxide levels of the sedanters and professional football playersRecovery is an important part of the football game as well as the endurance. The role of nitric oxide (NO) which is vasodilator and metabolic regulator is unknown in the performance of football player. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among NO, aerobic threshold (ATH), anaerobic threshold (ANTH), recovery heart rate (RHR) and lactate elimination (LAE) of the professional football players and the sedanters. Twenty healthy sedanter (KG), and 88 professional football (FG) players were used as the participants of this study. After overnight fasting blood samples were drawn, NO and haemoglobin content were examined. Then VO2max was determined using an incremental shuttle run test to volitional fatigue on a football field. During testing and recovery period ATH, ANTH, RHR and LAE of each participant were determined. According to statistical analysis ATH, ANTH, RHR and LAE levels of football players were significantly higher than that of KG. On the other hand, there were no statistically significant relationship among NO, ATH, ANTH, RHR and LAE levels of the study groups in all stages of shuttle run except at the 15th min recovery LA levels of the FG. Moreover, in simple effect runs of the statistical analysis significant negative relationship were found between NO and 3rd min of HR levels of KG. In addition, the relationship between NO and LAE was not statistically significant among professional football players in different positions. As a consequences, the relationship between NO and performance parameters of sedanters were significantly different than the professional football players. The results support the idea that football training effect the recovery time and NO levels of the athletes.Key Words; Aerobic Threshold, A
