Investigation of the views of teachers about curriculum mapping process

This master thesis aims at ?investigating the teacher views about curriculum mapping with respect to professional collaboration, standard alignment and assessment?. This descriptive and cross-sectional study involves collecting data through ?Curriculum Mapping Survey? developed by Wilansky (2005) to answer questions about teachers? opinions on curriculum mapping process. Both parametric, ANOVA, and non-parametric, Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U, analysis techniques were used to determine if there are statistically significant differences between the groups formed by the variables of teachers? educational level, years of teaching experience, subject areas, amount of time they use curriculum mapping, amount of professional development training they take, self-assessment of knowledge about curriculum mapping and amount of time they devote to curriculum mapping in a week.The findings show that there are no statistically significant differences between the groups of teachers? educational level, subject areas and amount of time teachers use curriculum mapping. However, as the years of teaching experience and amount of time teacher devote to curriculum mapping in a week increase, there are statistically significant differences between the groups about teacher general views and views with respect to professional collaboration, standard alignment and assessment. Also, the amount of professional development training the teachers take indicates positive opinions of teachers about general views of curriculum mapping process.
