Abstract (EN)
The research is designed to define the relationship between the project management and the tolerance to avoiding uncertainty. Since it wouldn't be meaningful to measure the project management maturity of companies which did not manage any projects at all; the main population is selected as the companies in TRB1 Region (which is composed of Malatya, Elazığ, Bingöl and Tunceli) that had financial support from Fırat Development Agency and so has at least one project management experience. The number of companies that has financial support from Fırat Development Agency is 74. 31 of these are found in Malatya, 22 of them are in Elazığ, 16 are in Bingöl and 5 are in Tunceli. In summary, at the end of this research, it is defined that the companies who are successful at managing projects also have high tolerance to the uncertainty which comes from the nature of the project. This can be explained as the companies that have high tolerance to uncertainty are more desirous to manage projects and adopt to project management approach to manage this uncertainty in best way. Keywords: Project, project management, avoiding uncertainty, integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resources management, communication management, risk management, procurement management.
