Abstract (EN)
Postate cancer is a multifactorial disease; some genetically based risk factors like ethnic and racial differences, high age, smoking and alcohol usage, diet, and family prostate cancer history are involved in its evolution.Although the molecular mechanisms behind the evolution and progression of prostate cancer are not completely solved yet, some genetic and epigenetic differences were reported. One can give the G1733A polymorphism of the AR gene as an example for these differences. To study the role of the AR gene in prostate cancer evolution a total of 96 cases, consisting of 49 prostate cancer and 47 healthy individuals, were included to the study; and G1733A polymorphism were examined in their blood. After the analysis of the G1733A polymorphism, 17 cases from 49 in the working group were found . From the 47 cases in the control group 4 were found to polymorphism. When the results from the working and control groups were compared, a statistically significant difference was found between both groups.
