Evaluation of AMH with prostate-specific antigen and prostatic acid phosphatase as early detection marker of prostatitis cancer

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and Prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) are the most known among the secreted compounds from the prostate gland. PSA is a 33000 daltonglyco protein. This protein is detected only in epithelial cells of prostatic ductal elements. Although it was found in 1979, it is the most clinically important indicator for the detection and monitoring of prostate diseases and prostate cancer. Increased awareness of prostate cancer and PSA test and widespread screening based on early diagnosis affect the increase in incidence, but also brings the convenience of early diagnosis and decreases the mortality rate of the disease. AMH is produced in men by Sertoli cells inside the testicles. It should also be noted that AMH is a peptide hormone within the TGF-β growth factor family that controls cell poliferation, cell differentiation and apoptosis in normal tissues. Although the PSA test is known to be functional in the early diagnosis of prostate cancer, there are different opinions on AMH. The result showed that serum tPSA, creatinine, urea, and uric acid were significantly higher while RBS was no significantly in patients with prostatitis compared with controls (P < 0.05). This study deals with comparing PSA, PAP and AMH levels for early diagnosis of prostate cancer.
