Abstract (EN)

In recent years, adsorption of protein molecules has begun to play an important role in many other areas such as biology, biotechnology, biochemical and environmental science. The most important biocompatible materials that can be used in protein adsorption is hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6OH2, HAP). HAP that is widely used in separation of biological molecules is preferred because of the biocompatibility, chemical and structural similarities as bone.In this study, HAP crystals produced under different conditions and characterized by BET and FT-IR methods were investigated the applicability of protein adsorption on the BSA (bovin serum albumine).Adsorption experiments was carried out in pH 7.4 and pH 6.0 at 37?C. As a result of the experiments performed, the equilibruim time was taken as approximately 20 hours. Adsorption capacity of adsorbents produced with industrial polymer and sintered decreased with increasing polymer concentration. Increasing the sintering temperature decreased the adsorption capacity. On the other hand the adsorption capacity of adsorbent increased with the lowering of production temperature of the adsorbent.The convenience of the equilibrium data to the Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherms were analyzed. It was determined that Langmuir isotherm fit well the adsorption isotherm of BSA.Pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order adsorption kinetic models were used to establish BSA adsorption. Evaluation of the data showed that the pseudo-second-order kinetic model is the most convenient model to represent the adsorption kineticKeyword: Adsorption, hydroxyapatite, BSA, protein, isotherm.
