Abstract (EN)
In the present study, the Pruitt-Baggett catalyst known to be active in the stereoreguler polymerization of propylene oxide was prepared from ferric chloride and propylene oxide. The catalyst was prepared under high vacuum conditions and stored and used in experiments without exposing to atmosphere. The electrical conductivity which was observed in freshly prepared solutions fainted a way as the solution aged. However the orginal conducti vity can be regenerated if the solvent of the aged solu tions evaporated. The moleculer weight of catalyst was measured by isopiestic method. The catalyst also briefly was characterized by spectroscopic techniques.
