Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT The Relationship Between Spiritual Well-Being Levels and Treatment to Adherence of Psychiatric Patients Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between spiritual well-being and treatment adherence in psychiatric patients. Material and Method: This research was conducted as a relational identifier. Inonu University Turgut Ozal Medical Center created 2500 adult psychiatric patients treated in psychiatry. In the study, the sample of the research with the power analysis performed was determined as 410 patients. In order to collect the data, the Descriptive Form, The Morisky treatment adherence scale and the Spiritual Well-Being Scale were used. In the analysis of the data; percentile distribution, arithmetic mean, independent t test, variance analysis and correlation analysis were used. Results: 26.88 ± 9.97% of the total score of Psychiatric Patients' Spiritual Wellness Scale and 50.7% of the patients were moderate to Morisky Treatment Compliance Scale. In the study, it was found that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between psychiatric patients' scale score subscale and total point average and Morısky treatment compliance scale mean score (p <.05). Conclusion: Psychiatric patients who participated in the study were found to have moderate level of treatment adherence and moderate level of spiritual well-being. As the level of spiritual well-being of the patients increased, adherence to treatment increased. Psychiatric nurses may be advised to integrate spirituality into patient care in order to increase patient compliance with care.
