Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship of expressing anger between adolescents diagnosed with psychiatric and their parents.The test group consits of adolescents between the ages of 15-18 and their families registered at the Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital Adolescent Mental Health Consultation and Treatment Unit. A Demographic Questionnaire and an Anger Expression Scale, which was developed by Spielberger and adapted to Turkish by Özer, have been used for collecting data. In the study, the one-way analysis of variance were applied. Additionally, Tukey-HSD test was conducted when the results of Anova were significant.The research results were examined in terms of different levels of anger, adolescents diagnosed with psychiatric did not demonstrate statistical differences their mothers and fathers concerning trait anger and anger inward reflection. In terms of out of anger, adolescents diagnosed with psychiatric did not demonstrate statistical differences in comparison to their fathers but they did reflect more out of anger than their mothers. In terms of anger control, adolescents diagnosed with psychiatric did not demonstrate statistical differences to their mothers but, their fathers were better in controling anger than adolescents diagnosed with psychiatric.In terms of study results, adolescents and their parents recommend regulation of anger management programs.Keywords: Anger, Anger Expression, Adolescent Psychiatric Patients, Parent
