Persuasion with respect to psycho-social aspect: The sample of Bediüzzaman Said Nursî

Communication is one of the most significant vital components of life. The success of the communication is evaluated through the power of persuasion. Persuasive communication is important in establishing a proper religious life in people. The effective factors in having a deep impact on the masses of people are the characteristic features, life-style, knowledge and educational level, language and the way of communication. The characteristic ideas, mission, the process of struggle, the works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi who is one of the significant thinkers raised in our country recently had great impact and became a topic of study in different fields. But the fact that there aren't sufficient researches on his personal method, style of persuasion, the psychological factors effective on the people motivated us to work on this study. Our research is based on the problem how the scholar characteristic, religious life-style, the values he defends, personal characteristics, the language and the communicational method he uses in the process of persuasion of Said Nursi affects people psycho-socially, as part of the general features of the concept of persuasion. In our research we have used the method of scanning e resources and we have examined Said Nursi's works and works related to him. We have done descriptive work benefitting from the sciences of religion, education, psychology, philosophy, sociology and communication. In conclusion, we have concluded that the scholar personality, religious life-style, characteristic features and distinctive language and narrative way of Said Nursi have been effective in the persuasion process.
