Investigate the relationship between subjective well being levels and attachment styles of psychology students

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between subjective well-being levels and attachment styles of psychology students. In addition, the personal information form was used to measure some variables, such as gender, age, class, academic achievement, status, living with whom, parental educational status, monthly income, 6-24 months caregiver and the place where he or she lived. To measure the differences between these variables and subjective well-being and attachment styles. The sample of the study consisted of 197 students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades studying in the Psychology Department of Çağ University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2018-2019 academic year. 148 female and 49 male students participated in this study. In this study, Relationship Scales Questionnaire, Subjective Well-being Scale and Personal Information Form were used as data collection tools. The data of the study were evaluated with t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and correlation analysis. It was analyzed with IBM SPSS 25.0 package program. According to the results of the research, there is a statistically significant difference between subjective well-being and gender. Female students have a higher subjective well-being than male students. In addition, there was a statistically significant difference between some variables these are subjective well-being and 6-24 months caregiver. The subjective well-being levels of the psychology students did not differ significantly according to variables such as age, class, the person they lived with, academic achievement, parents' educational status, the place where they lived the majority of their lifes and the monthly income of their family. A significant difference was obtained between attachment styles and class variablas. Finally, while a positive correlation was founding between subjective well-being and secure attachment, negative correlation between dismissing attachment, fearful attachment and preoccupied attachment style.
